Jerry Phillips is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and has been serving residents of Central Florida for over 25 years. During that time he has specialized in treating individuals struggling with conditions such as grief, depression, mania, anxiety, ADHD and addiction. In addition, he has assisted couples and families through adoption home studies and divorce mediation. Having served in the US Navy for 29 years as a Chaplain he has successfully worked with active duty and retired military veterans and their families with a sensitivity to the unique struggles of military life and culture. Jerry also established a private practice serving Lake, Marion and Sumter counties for 10 years, during which he began specializing in treating addictions and mood disorders. While in private practice he obtained licensure as a MCAP (Florida licensure as a Masters level Certified Addiction Professional), became certified as a Professional Relapse Prevention Specialist through Gorsk/CENAPS and nationally certified as a SAP (Substance Abuse Professional). Now, drawing from his diverse training and experience he combines common sense and a person centered approach in serving his clients at Advanced Behavioral Health Center where he continues to help individuals help themselves.
